When Customers Become Friends
I’m late. This is not good. How did I mess this up? I grab my camera, jacket and keys. Before leaving, I check my Google Calendar. There it is: the appointment I made with Candace. It was for a customer testimonial at 4pm, but mistakenly I chose the following Monday when scheduling a reminder. I arrive at Lester Glenn Hyundai in Manahawkin, shocked that she waited so long. “I’m so sorry that I’m late,” I said honestly. Although not thrilled with my tardiness, she’s a teacher and is used to having endless patience. Between my arrival and our scheduled appointment, Candace took the opportunity to unwind, have a cup of coffee and enjoy some alone time. We recorded about 5 minutes of film, but spent an additional 30 minutes just talking. Candace was no longer just a customer with a story. School teacher, mother, loving wife and proud owner of a Sante Fe. Did I mention she’s also a friend of mine? Click here to meet Candace, who claims that the color was the deciding factor.

Barb Approved
As she sifted through her purse looking for something unknown to me, I wondered who Barb was. I dislike asking people rigid questions, especially when I’m getting to know them. “So miss, how do you like the brand new car you just purchased?” Is not something Barb had any interest in answering. She most likely adores the new car. Her new 2010 Subaru Outback. I let her speak about it. She has dogs; loves them. She recently purchased a car but it wasn’t what she “really” wanted in the first place. Lester Glenn is the only place that would make the trade. Barb kept talking, uninterrupted by any interjection on my part that would force her into an uncomfortable corner. My belief: if you give someone room, they open up and you’re able to see real pieces of who they are. Here’s a testimonial where we’ve put those pieces together.

Spider
Spider didn’t get his name from the comic book hero. Rather, he used to “weigh 150 pounds soakin’ wet with bricks in his pockets”… and looked like the character Spider from Goodfellas. If you know the movie but cannot recall Spider, he was the skinny kid who waited tables when the ‘Wise Guys’ played cards. But like the comic book hero, our Spider catches you in a web of charms. Back In The Day
There’s nothing better than a good story and no one you’d rather hear it from than a good storyteller. Some of the best storytellers have developed the skill of storytelling from being observant throughout their years. The Cowboy is no exception. He’s been around the auto industry for quite some time. And back in his day… well, click here to see for yourself.

Appraise Away
How many people does it take to appraise one vehicle? According to the Mascot and the Cowboy, two salespersons over at Lester Glenn’s GM-Buick-Pontiac dealership, it took about 5 on this one day in particular. “In reality, there is no set number,” said Chuckles, the Internet Manager for all of Lester Glenn. “We start by verifying its current options. We check mileage, its overall condition, test drive it… this is just to name a few things.” He went on to say, “It shouldn’t take more than one or two people, but sometimes having a few can really make the difference.” Click here to see the Cowboy and the Mascot appraising away.
